Univ.-Prof. Dr. Gernot Stöglehner is heading the Institute of Spatial Planning, Environmental Planning and Land Management in the Department for Landscape, Spatial and Infrastructure at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna. The institute deals with different issues regarding sustainable spatial planning and spatial development. It is involved in the design of legal framework conditions, in research and development it advances planning instruments, planning processes and planning methods and communicates them in teaching and further education. Core topics of the institute are strategic spatial planning, spatial resilience, efficient and sustainable use of space, quantitative soil protection, inner city and town core development, business settlement and site development, spatial aspects of digitization, natural hazard management, energy transition and climate protection, demographic change and infrastructure development.
