SAVE THE SOILS

My new book

Land Take for building land and infrastructure has reached an intolerable level. Political and societal action is urgently needed to solve this problem. But what exactly is the problem? What is going wrong? What are the consequences of land consumption for us? What needs to be done? What barriers need to be overcome? And why does this land take affect all of us?
Gernot Stöglehner, Professor of Spatial Planning at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna, examines these questions in profound analyses. He shows possible solutions and explains how measures against land consumption can be used to make our lives and our society more sustainable, resilient and future-oriented - and improve the quality of life in the long term.

ENERGY TRANSITION

TOGETHER WE CAN DO IT

In this keynote, I  talk about the necessity of the energy transition in light of the climate crisis and explore the question how this is related to the shaping of our spaces. Because the way we organize our space, how we design our cities and villages, how we move around in space, where we live, where we work, where and how we shop, where our children go to school, where we relax and spend our leisure time, and how we organize our mobility between these uses of space, has massive impacts on how we can achieve the energy transition. Some of the scope for action as a private individual or company is also addressed.
